Is Halogen light energy saving, compared to incandescent?

The features of halogen are hard to find in other lamps.In some applications it may be possible to replace halogens with metal halide or color-corrected high pressure sodium lamps.

They are the choice for energy efficient lighting.They are similar to incandescents but produce a whiter light, use an average of 40% less electricity, last two to four times longer and come in spot or flood types.

Halogen spotlights allow pinpoint focus. Using standard bulbs for general lighting in the same room heightens the effect of halogens even more.
For outdoor use, halogen floodlights cast a brighter, easier-to-see-by light. And since they last twice as long as standard bulbs, you won’t need to struggle to reach hard-to-access outdoor fixtures as often.
